(New Developments) Progress at Shelley Point, the 150ha West Coast residential development, remains good. In fact, says Pieter Swanepoel, in a company press release, sales since 2005 have been the highest ever recorded on the estate with more erven having been sold this year .
Right now, sales are proceeding on the penultimate land release, the 93 erven phase eight. This phase is sited on the north-east corner of the estate and, although these plots are not “waterfront”, most will have sea views.
Shelley Point Sales Manager, Pieter Swanepoel, says phase eight’s stands are on average 550sqm and priced from R500 000 to R850 000. Already more than 80% of the stands in this phase have been sold and Swanepoel expects sell-out by the end of 2006.
“These plots,” he said, “offer buyers a last opportunity to own a freestanding home on its own plot. The final phase will be for luxury apartments in multi-level blocks overlooking Shelley Point’s small craft harbour on the estate’s eastern coastline.”
The obligatory environmental and impact assessment studies for the small craft harbour are now being undertaken.
To date 1 100 plot sales have been made and 900 cluster homes and apartments been built in Shelley Point.
